The authoritative academic journal Literary Review published research papers related to Bie-modern studies.

The authoritative academic journal Literary Review, sponsored by the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, published the paper “Modernity” as a Tradition of Classical Poetry——On the New Discovery of New Poetry from the Tradition of Classical Poetry in the 21st Century by Professor Luo Xiaofeng, the doctoral supervisor of the School of Literature of Yangzhou University, in the third issue of 2022. This paper holds that a group of poets and researchers of new poetry since the 21st century have reinterpreted classical poetry from the perspective of hermeneutics with the perspective of “modernity”. It is found that “modernity” has long existed in classical poetry, and a “modernity” thread that originated from the poetry of the Southern Dynasty and continued to the poetry of the Tang and Song dynasties has been combed out from the history of ancient poetry, which is considered as the “modernity” tradition in classical poetry. Based on this, it constructs a new look and new order of the classical poetry tradition, forms a rediscovery of the classical poetry tradition, and has a certain role in promoting the development of new poetry. However, this kind of “modernity”, which is regarded as the tradition of classical poetry, is not really “modernity”, but a kind of “Bie-modernity” that blends “classical”, “modern” and “post-modern”. The real “modernity” needs further exploration and development.
