Professor Wang Jianjiang from Shanghai Normal University visited the School of Humanities at Gansu Agricultural University for a symposium.

To further strengthen exchanges with well-known domestic universities and promote the development of the school, on the afternoon of April 7th, at the invitation of the School of Humanities at Gansu Agricultural University, Professor Wang Jianjiang, a professor and doctoral supervisor from the School of Humanities at Shanghai Normal University, the founder of Bie-Modern theory, and the academic advisor of the “China Center for Bie-Modern Studies (CCBMS)” in the United States, visited our school for a symposium and exchange. The Vice Minister of the Party Committee’s publicity department, Wang Bailing, as well as representatives of teachers and students from the university, attended the symposium.

At the beginning of the symposium, Vice Dean Long Yan provided a brief introduction to Professor Wang Jianjiang’s research direction and achievements. Subsequently, the attending teachers engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Wang Jianjiang on topics such as “Bie-Modern theory, aesthetic theory, and the quantitative study of literary qualify” based on their respective research areas.

After the symposium, Professor Wang Jianjiang gave three suggestions to the teachers: first, to always prioritize teaching and educating students; second, to be patient in research and encourage teachers to engage in interdisciplinary research; third, to learn how to adjust their own thinking.

The content of this symposium was rich and diverse, providing teachers and students with a new understanding of “Bie-Modern” theory, further expanding their academic horizons, stimulating enthusiasm for research, enhancing research capabilities and innovative abilities, and striving to create a new chapter in the high-quality development of the School of Humanities.
