Professor Wang Jianjiang’s article The Putting-forward and the Development of Bie-Modernism Philosophy and Aesthetics was published in the third issue of Journal of Hebei Normal University(Philosophy and Social Sciences) in 2022. It was also excerpted in the fifth issue of the China University Academic Abstracts and the fifth issue of China Social Science Excellence (Aesthetics).
China University Academic Abstracts is the first large-scale academic abstract publication in the field of humanities and social sciences in the People’s Republic of China after its establishment. It has received considerable attention from important domestic newspapers, periodicals, and the academic media. Following the concept of the “Four Major Abstracts” which includes the China University Academic Abstracts proposed by the GuangMing Daily, influential journals such as Publishing Research further put forward the concept of the “Three Major Abstracts”. The authoritative China Periodical Yearbook (2004/2005 edition) published an article stating that the Xinhua Digest, China University Academic Abstracts and Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index are regarded as the three major pillars of social science abstract journals. China Social Science Excellence is a database of humanities and social science materials created by RUC Digital Media Technology (Beijing) based on the collection of reproduced journals and periodicals from the Information Center for Social Science of RUC. It is supplemented with search functions, journal recommendations, and paper recommendations. Professional editors and academic experts carefully select and organize a large amount of academic information according to rigorous academic standards, resulting in a high-quality collection of selected works.
In the reproduced (excerpted) article, Wang Jianjiang points out that “Bie-Modern” is a summary of a paradoxical modernity that exists in a state of temporal and spatialization. Bie-Modernism, on the other hand, is a value judgment and theoretical proposition regarding this paradoxical modernity and Bie-Modernity. It arises from a strong awareness of the need to establish philosophies, humanities, and social sciences that align with China’s economic development. Its core propositions include identifying true and false modernity, establishing genuine modernity through the Deep Distinguishing, and achieving modernization. It advocates for the Leap-forward Pause, breaking free from Time Spatialization and entering world history through self-renewal and self-revolution. By looking back at Bie-Modernity from a post-postmodern perspective and drawing on the positive achievements of modernity, postmodernity, and post-postmodernity, it seeks to forge its own path. It emphasizes the realization of life equity , providing a solid foundation for human well-being and the generation of happiness and aesthetics. It aims to transform Western aesthetic modernity into modernity within aesthetics and modernity within literary and artistic works, in order to promote new enlightenment and intellectual liberation.
The development trend of Bie-Modernism is likely to generate hotspots and focal points in several Bie-Modernism theories, leading to broader international academic discussions. It has the potential to integrate with computer artificial intelligence technology and combine with literary and artistic creation, forming schools and movements, and ultimately becoming one side of the world philosophical quadrilateral and philosophical moment.
