Abstract of The Originality of the Theory and the First Basis of the Theory:

Originality is different from innovation. In the humanities, innovation involves building upon others’ ideas and making new discoveries or presenting new perspectives. On the other hand, originality means being the pioneer, with others building upon your ideas. The lack of originality often hampers the development of academic thinking. Both originality and innovation require institutional constraints and protection, as well as methodological guidance. In addition to institutional constraints and protection, innovation requires intrinsic and extrinsic motivating mechanisms, as well as methodological mechanisms that define academic pathways. The highest form of methodology belongs to the top-level design, as it encompasses methods within methods, rather than addressing general principles and rules. However, this top-level design should start from the grassroots level and not impose a top-down approach. Among various methods and methodologies, the theory’s primacy principle will become the fundamental rule. The establishment of original thoughts and theories relies on the discovery of the first principle, which serves as the initial starting point and remains an essential foundation or fundamental reason throughout the evolution of the theory. The first principle arises from the reality of social life, including the first principle of aesthetic forms in the modern era, which is also rooted in social forms. The theory of life equity that emerged from modern social forms can serve as the first principle for addressing social anxieties and generating human happiness and aesthetic appreciation.

Abstract of On the Four Construction Paths of Bie-modern Theories:

Bie-modern, as an original theory from China, provides an effective interpretation of the socio-cultural conditions of modernity in the process of Chinese-style modernization. It has gained attention in academic circles in China and even in Europe, the United States, and other regions. With the deepening of Chinese-style modernization and its gradual recognition, the urgent task for the Bie-modern theory is to explore different approaches to refine itself, thereby constructing an independent theory that can mutually verify and interpret with Chinese-style modernized socio-cultural contexts. Based on the current research status and feasibility analysis, there are at least three possible construction paths for the Bie-modern theory: “the criticalization of theory” “integration into specific disciplinary research” and “active dialogue with cultural theory and relevant theories”. As long as one of these paths can be pursued effectively, the Bie-modern theory can enter new territory. Of course, the Bie-modern theory can continue to engage with sociocultural texts and promote its ideas, which is also a necessary development path for the theory. It is believed that the Bie-modern theory will gain more recognition with the advancement of Chinese-style modernization and contribute value to the growth and maturity of Chinese modernity.
